Cardiac Arrest due to Oculo-Cardiac Reflex

Abstract
A 7-year-old girl was admitted to the department of ophthalmology with a pencil about 7.5cm in length, in the brain.
The foreign body was accidentally compressed into the brain through the eight. superior orbital fissure.. During eye manipulation under general anesthesia sing. halotane-oxygen, cardiac arrest due to oculo-cardiac reflex occurred suddenly. Prevention of the cardiac arrest due to oculo-cardiac reflex may be more important than cardiac resuscitation. There has previously been reported two method recommendable the reflex: retrobulbar local anesthetic block, and the intravenous injection-of atropine.
